In honor of National Moth Week, Mother Neff State Park is hosting a FREE Moth Night on Saturday, June 10th from 8pm - 10pm.

Bring your flashlight and bug spray to keep mosquitoes away as you hunt for night life. Mother Neff will have moth guides and cameras to help submit your observations. Central Texas Master Naturalists will be available to help identify critters and teach all of us the benefit of having them around. There will also be a moth scavenger hunt.

According to Mother Neff you can expect to: "actively participate by finding moths and taking notes. The easiest way to do this, is to download the iNaturalist app (www.iNaturalist.org) on your smart phone and create a profile before coming to the event. At the event, you take pictures of moths and upload them to the ‘National Moth Week’ project on iNaturalist. There will be plenty of Central Texas Master Naturalists on hand to help you with it all. We will show you how easy it is to become a Citizen Scientist." Park entrance fees will be waived for this event!

Mother Neff State Park is located at 1680 TX-236 Highway in Moody. Questions about this event should be directed to Mother Neff State Park
